U. can write a letter to T.K.V. Desikachar - kym.org ofcourse, or u. can also write to T.K. Sribhashyam in France to ask about Y.M. (he is the first son of Sri T.Krishnamacharya...) yogakshemam.net/English/homepage.html There are some people in Germany, who learnt with Ramaswamy from Y.M. in the last years. And of course there is an other way: write to svastha.com, to A.G. Mohan - who is an other long term sishya of Sri T. Krishnamacharya. But to buy a copy today is much more than impossible .

Senior disciples of K. including his wife hace related how K. wrote this first in just about a week. Very often a tantra is introduced as being expounded by Shiva, representing pure consciousness, and directed at Parvati/Shakti, representing energy, or enquiry, or practice. These texts are deliberately anonymous because the yogi who wrote it down is not taking credit. The implication is that through enquiry and practice, and a few helpful sutras left behind by another follower of the path, universal truth (and practices) can be realised. That's why its so laughable when clowns like Bikram "patent" a posture or a series. PJ is saying the same in that video someone posted this week. Yoga is Universal - big U.

So, basically its the real version of the legendary Korunta which I disbelieve in.

To be followed by a translation of one of either of Krishnamacharya's other books the Yoganjali or Yogasanalui. They could not give a definate timeframe but just said " trying to release the same at the earliest" . I suggest you just sign up to their newsletter to find out when published.

No problem to make translation from kannada - i know one good translator who knows yogic therms, but problem to find a copy:-)

Posts: 1 (12/07/08 20:48:51) Reply Quote More My Recent Posts Message Me Connection Blocking Invite Ignore User's Posts	i have an english translation of the yoga makaranda by krishnamacharya. it's not for sale so please do not ask. i do not want to devalue it. it's got interesting pictures and if you want a copy, you need to go study with srivatsa ramaswami. you may get lucky and he may pull it out. also, i can see that it was written in a short period because it's almost like a journal.. he rants and digresses.. but it's all yoga and it's ALL GOOD! i practice advanced ashtanga.. and have studied some advanced iyengar.. it's now apparent to me where it came from.. some of the first poses that we learned in the vinyasa krama aren't taught until you reach the 4th series in ashtanga.. that sucks because most people never finish the primary series. i teach it all namaste.... rt

His his vinyasa sequences are apparently specific to each asana. Most interestingly, perhaps, they have a totally awesome jumpback which I have mentioned before. Another thing is the specific chants which are done during sun salutations, so you know this comes right from Krishnamacharya.. Its been awhile since I browsed this book, but another interesting thing was the way Ramaswami dissed Guruji in the introduction. I wont make any more comment on that. caroline 123, if you get up near Calcutta, you might check the national archives for the Korunta in palmleaf antiquities, possibly in the banana collection, but certainly not written on grape leaves as some sources have suggested.Has anyone tried this? Seriously, I recently came across a book of Tibetan Yantra Yoga which system is identical practically to hatha yoga and in some way very similar to some ashtanga moves. Incidentally, there are 5 series in this system. It is thought to have originated in eastern tibet in about the 4th century CE, from peoples emmigrating from the Swat Valley in present day Pakistan, which predates any hatha yoga commentaries by centurys.....Krishnamacharya...Tibet....hmmmm...

Manasarovar lake is situated few hours driving from holy Kailash mountain. I was there 2 years ago - its hard-ti-live and fucking cold plase - very cold water, strong wind - no any trees around. Attitude more than 4500 m. so its difficult to breathe there. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lake_Manasarovar I think for south indian man it was like "cold hell" from Garuda Purana. As i red somethere, Shri P.Jois was not agree with story about Krishnamacharya`s life in Tibet and told that he met Ram Mohan near Benares. What is truth we will never know... But many centures Manasarovar lake was holy place for both indian sadhus and tibetan yogis, so i think they have lot of time to communicate and share they expirience there. Tibetan asana style - rTsa Lung (or Yantra yoga - how it colled in Namkai Norbu Rinpoche Dzogchen community) - its mostly dinamical asan practice and some mothements similar to ashtanga vinyasa. But in tibetan system they did not fixing asanas at all - its pure dinamic, sometimes they also use udjayi breathing in asanas, sometimes movements performed with kumbhaka. Some movements similar to other indian hatha yoga school - tradition of sukshma vyaama of Dhirendra Brahmachari lineage. http://www.kundalini-yoga...&id=29&Itemid=45 So many dinamical exercices are useful during yoga practise in cold climat of Himalayas. I think it could be influence of tibetan yoga in Ram Mohan Brahmachari vinyasa system, if he was really lived in Tibet, but also it could be south indian source - dynamical exercices of Kerala martial art Kalari Payattu. They have some vinyasa movements also. Plus traditional indian wrestlers exercices, as described Shyoman in his Malla Purana translation (indian wrestlers scripture) I dont talk about Yoga Korunta here because we dont have any scientific proof about existing of this scripture.
