I've been gone a loonng time, but decided to come back to the board and ashtanga in general. My old name was new2ashtanga but after 5-6 years of practice (more off than on most of that time), I have decided to come back to both Ashtanga and this board. Yeah - thanks to everyone doing the work to keep this up. I don't check in here as much anymore, but it is an awesome resource - both in the wealth of stuff that has accumulated and in the potential that it has for communication in the present and the future. Would be very sad to see it go away.

I have the time to take on housekeeping if the need arises. There will be times, however, when I'll be away for a couple of weeks. Also, given my age and physical limitations, I can't be sure what's happening with my practice - I can only take it a week at a time, so no long-term contracts. But if help is needed for a while, just let me know.

I have not visited in a while and almost cried out loud nooo! when I read the title of the of the posting. I have gotten a lot of information from the site and some entertainment as well. I also have extra time that could be spent more productively. If there is any thing I can do now to ease the burden of the moderators let me know. (although I am not the sharpest tack in the box I can learn pretty fast.) I'm sorry this offer comes after the fact but it is a genuine one. I just wish it...

I also agree that this board is not only a wealth of knowledge but a resource for those of us just starting out in Ashtanga Yoga. Sure, there are plenty of other sites on the web that do a good job of depicting what Ashtanga yoga is about and why it is such a beautiful practice, but there is nothing like writing your concern up on this board to have a variety of individuals respond with worthwile and often self-reflected advice. To be honest, I also felt I could do housekeeping adequately but there are two factors I considered.

1) Pretty much most topics people ask about have been covered at great depth within the history of the forum

2) In recent times there seems to have been a trend for fewer posts about the practise and more about self promotion or the promotion of some agenda either not related to the practise or (most...

So traffic has dwindled to almost nothing around and frankly, I'm a bit tired of doing housekeeping. I log in daily, only to keep deleting spam of the most obvious and not so obvious ("I love your post, by the way I got a lot of good info from this fantastic yoga shop") kind. I don't want to do it anymore but I hate the thought of this board being a free-for-all wasteland when the archives contain lots of good information that can still be looked up.
