My husband and I will be practicing at the shala and are looking for a place to stay from approximately February 8th- April 12th. Last time, we stayed in one of Krishna Murthy's places for 6,000/month and are looking for similar offers. Shared bath/kitchen is just fine. Please let me know if you have/know of any openings. What's the vibe at the shala? I do see on the website that the shala is full from Jan 9-Feb 10, so there must still be a lot of people going.

I read somewhere on here about someone going to mysore and practising at the shala for 3 months and only got 5 adjustments. Can someone please explain to me what is the point of going to study and practice with someone when you hardly get adjusted or spoken to? You seem to get much better attention at your own local studio where you live. mind you, I've never beent to mysore but would like to for the experience it (so maybe that's why people go), but why do people go regularly? Would it be possible to survive with a budget about 300-350 USD per month, to eat
simple food, to have a small and not luxurious room and what's most important

AYRI is a bit expensive, I could afford 3-4 month, could someone

I'm wondering if anyone has any experience with ayurveda in Mysore? I am planning to study ashtanga at the Ashtanga Yoga Institute in November and I would also like to learn more about ayurveda while I am there. Does anyone know if this is possible? If not in Mysore, any recommendations would be appreciated.

Also, how is a typical day structured while studying yoga at Ashtanga Yoga Institute?

I am planning to travel to Mysore to practice at KPJAYI in 2 weeks (late june) for one month. After that I plan to go to Goa for more yoga practice and perhaps to study Ayurveda.

Can anyone tell me if it is appropriate for women to wear sleeveless tops/shorts in Mysore, given that there are lots of western students studying yoga there? I know that in most places (except for Goa) women must cover their shoulders and upper legs, but I was wondering if this is also...
